Let's be honest - a blog post is better with pictures. So when I heard that a friend had captured an action shot of our most recent move from the West U area to the Heights, I was excited to share.
Our new neighbors were pretty pumped to meet real live nomads, but things got a little uncomfortable when they started snapping pictures. Rude.
Here's a look at our temporary housing:
Kitchen
This is the majority of our space. We're very lucky to have friends who just happen to have an extra TV, TV stand, coffee table and futon (and spinning bike) on their hands.
Of course, there are downsides to living in a garage apartment...like the inability to sleep if your significant other is awake (or using the restroom...tmi?). Lack of a closet is also a downside. But never fear! See that thing in the corner?
We were going for the "open air" feel, you know? And my shoe "rack" on the bottom is our old dining room table. Desperate times call for extreme creativity. Storage bins become tables, desks become dressers, and tables become shoe stands.
I'm so thankful for our friends Annie and Jeff who let us bunk up in their back yard for a while. Let's hope we're outta their hair sooner rather than later. I'm also hoping that we can look back and laugh at this at some point (Please, God, let that be soon, ha:).
